The Illinois Republican Party today launched an online petition encouraging all Illinois taxpayers to sign an online petition taking a stand against tax increases to fund the Fiscal Year 2008 budget.
“Our rank and file voters are hopping mad over a do-nothing Democrat controlled Illinois government that can somehow find the votes to pass themselves a pay increase but are continually unable to pass a common sense budget for the people of Illinois that does not raise their taxes, said Illinois Republican Party Chairman Andy McKenna. “This online petition gives voters in Illinois an opportunity to show their support for a 12-month budget that does not increase taxes on the hardworking men and women of Illinois."
I support the passage of a common-sense state budget for Fiscal Year 2008 that requires the State of Illinois to live within its means and funds state operational expenses without raising taxes.
